BMKG Issues Early Warning for Heavy Rain Across Parts of Banten

Tangerang — Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early weather warning for several areas in Banten Province on Monday, December 29, 2025.

The warning, released at 11:15 a.m. WIB, highlights the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds starting at around 11:45 a.m. WIB. BMKG stated that the weather conditions are expected to persist until approximately 2:30 p.m. WIB.

Areas initially affected include parts of Pandeglang Regency, Lebak Regency, Serang Regency, Cilegon City, and Serang City. BMKG also noted that the heavy rainfall could expand to other districts across the province.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain alert to possible impacts such as local flooding, fallen trees, reduced visibility, and disruptions to daily activities due to strong winds and lightning. BMKG urged the public to monitor the latest weather updates through its official communication channels.

Thousands of Homes in Aceh Still Without Electricity

Tangerang, December 29 — Thousands of homes in Aceh remain without electricity following recent floods that damaged power infrastructure in several parts of the province. The prolonged outages continue to affect residents’ daily lives, particularly in areas where electricity has not yet been fully restored.

Based on reports from national media, approximately 35,000 houses are still without access to electricity. The outages are mainly caused by damage to transmission lines, substations, and supporting facilities after floods and landslides hit several districts in Aceh.

Electricity disruptions have affected various aspects of daily activities, including household needs, communication, and small-scale economic activities. In some villages, residents are forced to rely on limited alternative power sources, such as small generators or shared electricity access, while others remain completely without power.

Emergency generators have been distributed to several affected areas as a temporary solution. These generators are intended to support basic electricity needs, particularly in public facilities and villages where restoration work has not yet reached. However, the temporary assistance has not fully covered all affected communities.

Electricity restoration efforts are still ongoing. Repair teams continue to work on damaged infrastructure, but the process has been slowed by difficult terrain, weather conditions, and the extent of damage in remote areas. As a result, full recovery has not been achieved across the province.

Observers note that Aceh’s geographical conditions make infrastructure recovery more challenging during natural disasters. Flood-prone areas and mountainous regions often experience longer electricity outages due to limited access and vulnerable power networks.

The current situation shows that electricity recovery in Aceh remains incomplete, with many residents still waiting for stable and continuous power supply. The condition highlights the importance of strengthening electricity infrastructure resilience in disaster-prone regions to reduce the impact of future disruptions

When Ai Becomes a Quiet Listener

It was nearly midnight when the message was typed. Not to a friend. Not to a family group chat. But to an artificial intelligence. The words came slowly at first, then all at once. About stress, loneliness, and the feeling of being overwhelmed. On the other side of the screen, there was no human presence. Yet, somehow, it felt safe.

This scene is becoming increasingly common. As digital life grows louder and more demanding, many people are turning to AI as a place to curhat, to vent, and to sort through emotions they struggle to express elsewhere. What once sounded strange is now part of everyday digital behavior.

In Indonesia, where conversations about mental health are still often avoided or minimized, AI offers something rare. A judgment free space. People do not worry about being seen as weak or dramatic. They do not fear being misunderstood or burdening others. They simply type and wait for a response.

The appeal lies in simplicity and accessibility. AI is always available, regardless of time or emotional state. It does not interrupt, argue, or share opinions unless asked. For many users, especially young adults, this consistency feels comforting in a world that often feels unpredictable.

There is also a sense of control. When talking to AI, users decide how much to share and when to stop. They can disappear without explanation. In a society where emotional expression is often shaped by social expectations, this freedom matters.

However, experts have begun to question the long term impact of this habit. While AI can simulate empathy, it does not truly understand human emotion. It cannot replace real connection, emotional nuance, or professional mental health support. The danger lies in mistaking response for understanding.

Despite these concerns, many users see AI not as a replacement, but as a bridge. A temporary listener before speaking to someone real. A space to organize thoughts before having difficult conversations. In this way, AI functions less like a therapist and more like a digital journal that responds.

The rise of AI as an emotional outlet reflects a deeper issue. People are exhausted. They are overwhelmed by academic pressure, financial stress, social expectations, and constant digital noise. When the world feels too heavy, even a machine that listens feels better than silence.

As technology continues to evolve, so will the ways humans use it. Curhat to AI may not be the solution to emotional struggles, but it reveals a powerful truth. People want to be heard. And when human spaces feel unavailable, they will find somewhere else to speak.

Why I Can’t Stop Playing Survive Bikini Bottom

It started as a joke. I opened Roblox with no real plan, clicked on Survive Bikini Bottom out of pure curiosity, and told myself I would only play for a few minutes. Just one round. Somehow, one round turned into hours. By the time I checked the clock, it was already late, and I was still telling myself, “Okay, last game.”

One of the biggest reasons this game is so addictive is the setting. Survive Bikini Bottom takes the familiar world from SpongeBob SquarePants and turns it into something darker and more chaotic. Iconic locations like Jellyfish Fields, Bikini Bottom streets, and other recognizable spots suddenly feel unsafe. That mix of nostalgia and danger creates an experience that feels both exciting and unsettling.

The gameplay itself is simple but intense. The goal is straightforward: survive. Players must run, hide, explore the map, and avoid enemies that appear unexpectedly. There is no complicated tutorial, which makes it easy to jump in, but surviving is never easy. Every round keeps you alert, especially when the environment suddenly changes and danger appears without warning.

What makes it even more fun is the unpredictable nature of each session. The map may feel familiar, but the experience never plays out the same way twice. Sometimes you end up teaming up with random players, silently understanding each other’s movements while trying to stay alive. Other times, panic spreads, players scatter in different directions, and chaos takes over. That randomness keeps the game fresh and exciting.

Another addictive element is the learning process. At first, everything feels confusing. You do not know where to run or which areas are safe. After playing for a while, you start recognizing patterns, learning shortcuts, and understanding when to move and when to hide. That small sense of progress makes each round feel rewarding, even if you lose in the end.

The sound effects and atmosphere also add to the experience. Background noises, sudden movements, and tense moments make the game feel more immersive. Even though it is a Roblox game, the atmosphere can feel surprisingly intense, especially when you are playing late at night with headphones on.

Of course, the downside is time. The “one more round” mindset is real. The game does not pressure you to stay, but the excitement quietly pulls you in. Minutes turn into hours without you noticing, and suddenly you realize you should have stopped a long time ago.

Still, it is hard to be mad about it. Survive Bikini Bottom offers fun, chaos, and a temporary escape from daily routines. It is easy to play, challenging enough to stay interesting, and familiar enough to feel comforting.

In the end, the reason I cannot stop playing is simple. The game is fun, unpredictable, and oddly satisfying. Maybe the real challenge is not surviving Bikini Bottom, but knowing when to finally log out.

BGN Keeps Free Nutritious Meal Program Running During School Holiday

Tangerang — The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has confirmed that its Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program will continue operating through the recent Christmas and New Year school holiday period in Indonesia. The policy aims to ensure children’s nutritional intake remains uninterrupted even when formal schooling is paused.

According to information disseminated by BGN officials, the continuation of the MBG program is meant to support families and communities, especially groups vulnerable to malnutrition. The agency emphasized that priority is given to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and young children, whose nutritional needs are critical and should not be placed on hold due to calendar breaks.

For school-age children, the program remains available optionally. Local School Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) are coordinating with parents and schools to determine how meals are distributed — whether students choose to collect their meals at school, have them delivered, or pick them up at designated SPPG centers.

Detractors of the initiative point out logistical challenges and questions around whether students and families will consistently access the meals during holiday periods. Some education observers note that meal collection during holidays depends on family willingness and available infrastructure at the local level.

Despite the holiday, the MBG program continues to be a focus for policymakers who want to prevent gaps in child nutrition before the new school term begins in early January 2026.

When Academic Pressure Comes With Financial Burdens

Semester seven is often described as the most demanding phase of university life. Students are expected to focus on internships, seminar proposals, and the completion of their final projects. However, academic pressure is not the only challenge faced during this stage. For many students, financial burdens quietly add another layer of stress that cannot be ignored.

Before reaching graduation, students are required to cover various academic-related expenses. These include TOEIC fees, internship costs, and seminar proposal payments. Each requirement comes with its own financial obligation, and when accumulated, they create significant pressure. While these costs may appear manageable individually, they become overwhelming when faced simultaneously.

The burden continues throughout the process of completing a thesis or final project. Students must allocate funds for printing drafts, conducting research, maintaining internet access, and fulfilling other academic needs. For those who choose the academic paper route, additional expenses such as submission fees, publication costs, and proofreading services are unavoidable. These financial responsibilities often determine how smoothly a student can progress toward graduation.

What makes this situation particularly challenging is that financial pressure does not lessen academic expectations. Deadlines remain strict, productivity is expected to remain high, and students are still required to perform academically. As a result, many students are forced to work part time while completing their final projects, not as a career choice, but as a means of financial survival.

This combination of academic and financial demands can significantly affect mental well being. It becomes difficult to concentrate on research when financial concerns occupy the mind. Rest often feels undeserved, and anxiety becomes a constant presence. Graduation, which should be a moment of achievement, begins to feel like a financial challenge rather than an academic milestone.

It is important to acknowledge that students come from diverse economic backgrounds. Treating financial obligations as uniform overlooks this reality. Therefore, universities could consider offering more flexible solutions, such as extended payment deadlines, installment plans, or clearer access to financial assistance. These measures would not lower academic standards, but instead support students in meeting them more effectively.

Small adjustments in policy can make a meaningful difference. When institutions show understanding and flexibility, students are given the space to focus on academic growth without being overwhelmed by financial anxiety. Semester seven should be a period of preparation and reflection, not a phase defined by financial pressure.

Recognizing these challenges and responding with empathy would demonstrate that universities view students not merely as academic performers, but as individuals navigating complex economic circumstances. Supporting students during this critical stage is not only an act of compassion, but also an investment in their academic success.

Digital Fatigue Is Real, Even for Gen Z

I believe digital fatigue is real and sometimes dangerous. As part of Gen Z, I grew up surrounded by screens. Phones, laptops, notifications, and online platforms are deeply embedded in my daily life. Yet the more connected I become, the more exhausted I often feel.

Digital fatigue is not only about tired eyes or headaches. It affects mental health. Constant notifications, endless scrolling, and the pressure to stay online create mental overload. Even when I am not actively using my phone, my mind feels alert and restless, as if it is always waiting for something to happen.

There are moments when I realize how difficult it has become to truly rest. I open my phone to relax, but instead of feeling calm, I feel overwhelmed. Social media feeds never stop updating, messages demand quick replies, and digital tasks blur the boundary between academic responsibilities and personal time.

What concerns me most is how normal this exhaustion has become. Feeling tired after long screen exposure is often ignored or accepted as part of modern life. Many people, including myself, blame a lack of discipline rather than questioning the digital environment itself. In reality, constant exposure reduces focus, lowers motivation, and increases anxiety.

In some situations, digital fatigue can be harmful. It disrupts sleep, shortens attention span, and creates emotional restlessness. When the brain never fully disconnects, burnout becomes difficult to avoid. This is why I believe digital detox is necessary.

Digital detox does not mean rejecting technology. It means setting healthy boundaries. Turning off unnecessary notifications, reducing screen time before sleep, and allowing moments without digital interruption can help restore mental balance. Even small breaks can make a meaningful difference.

Technology is essential for Gen Z. However, being comfortable with technology does not mean being immune to its effects. Recognizing digital fatigue and intentionally stepping away from screens is an act of self care. Sometimes, disconnecting is not a weakness, but a way to protect our well being.

Playing Last Letter = Learning Vocabulary

At first, playing Roblox was simply a way for me to relax and take a break from daily routines. Among the many games available, the Last Letter map seemed simple and casual, requiring no complicated strategy. However, the more I played, the more I realized that this game had an unexpected impact—especially on my English vocabulary development.

The Last Letter map is built around a word-based challenge. Each player must mention an English word that begins with the last letter of the previous word. In the early rounds, I relied only on familiar and commonly used words. As the game continued, those words quickly ran out. At that moment, I was forced to recall other vocabulary that I rarely used before.

There were times when I hesitated—not because I did not know the meaning of a word, but because I could not retrieve it quickly enough. Losing a round made me realize that knowing vocabulary passively is not enough; words need to be practiced and used actively. Through this process, my passive vocabulary gradually shifted into active vocabulary.

What makes Last Letter particularly engaging is its relaxed yet competitive atmosphere. There are no grades, no academic pressure, and no fear of making mistakes. Because of this, I felt more confident experimenting with unfamiliar words. Mistakes felt less like failures and more like part of the learning experience.

Without realizing it, I began to remember words that I had previously encountered only in textbooks or digital texts. These words became more memorable because they appeared repeatedly in meaningful contexts. The time limit in each round also trained me to think quickly and access vocabulary spontaneously.

This experience made me aware that learning English does not always have to take place in a formal classroom setting. Through a game like Last Letter, learning feels natural and enjoyable. Vocabulary is not memorized mechanically; instead, it is used directly in situations that require immediate responses.

For me, Last Letter is more than just a word game on Roblox. It represents how digital games can create alternative learning spaces—spaces where English is not a burden, but a natural part of everyday activity.

WFC at Kopken: Four Students and an Alternative Learning Space

TANGERANG -  Four university students sat around a single table at Kopken (Kopi Kenangan), Ruko Modernland, Tangerang. In front of them were open laptops, notebooks, and glasses of iced coffee slowly emptying as time passed. That afternoon, the café became an alternative learning space where they worked together to complete their academic assignments.

Choosing Kopken as a place to work was not without reason. The comfortable atmosphere, cool air conditioning, and relatively calm environment helped them stay focused—something they often found difficult when studying at home. Occasional discussions and soft laughter filled the space without disturbing other customers.

For the four students, working together in a café created a different kind of motivation. Tasks could be divided more efficiently, ideas were easily exchanged, and discussions felt more engaging. Coffee served not only as a refreshment but also as a companion throughout long hours of screen time.

This scene reflects the growing trend of Work From Café (WFC) among university students and young people. Cafés are no longer merely places to socialize but have evolved into productive spaces for studying and collaborative work. Kopken Ruko Modernland, located in a strategic commercial area, has become one of the preferred spots for this purpose.

Amid the sound of clinking ice and the steady rhythm of typing on keyboards, Kopken Ruko Modernland that day stood as a witness to how a simple café can transform into a shared learning space—where ideas meet, assignments are completed, and a sense of togetherness is formed.

AFK Is No Longer Worth It in Fish It!

There was a time when Fish It! felt like the perfect comfort game. You could leave your character fishing while doing homework, watching a series, or even sleeping, and come back to a satisfying reward. It was simple, relaxing, and fair. Recently, however, that feeling has slowly faded.

After the latest updates, Fish It! no longer feels worth leaving AFK for hours. The rewards feel noticeably smaller, progression is slower, and the excitement of checking your inventory after a long AFK session has turned into disappointment. Instead of feeling rewarded for patience, players now often feel like their time has been wasted.

What makes this situation more concerning is that the game’s rating has also started to decline. Many players have begun leaving negative reviews, expressing frustration over reduced AFK rewards and overall balance changes. While the game is still playable and enjoyable for some, the growing dissatisfaction is becoming harder to ignore.

Adding to the tension, there has been circulating speculation within the community that Fish It! may be taking heavy inspiration from another fishing game, Fisch. Some players believe recent updates resemble mechanics and progression styles seen in Fisch, which has led to debates and comparisons across social media and Roblox communities. However, it is important to note that there has been no official clarification or confirmation from the developers regarding these claims.

Even so, the rumor alone has affected player perception. When a game is already facing criticism for being less rewarding, uncertainty about originality only deepens the disappointment. For some players, it feels like Fish It! is slowly losing its unique identity—the very thing that once made it stand out as a calm, AFK-friendly experience.

AFK gameplay was never about being lazy; it was about trust. Trust that the game respected players’ time. Now, even after hours of AFK fishing, the results rarely feel proportional. Rare fish feel even rarer, and the progress gained often does not match the time invested.

It is understandable that developers may want players to be more active. Games should encourage engagement. However, Fish It! built its reputation as a relaxed and forgiving game. Shifting too far away from that identity risks alienating the casual players who helped build its popularity.

Fish It! still has charm and potential. But unless AFK rewards are rebalanced and player concerns are addressed, the game risks continuing its downward trend—not only in ratings, but in player trust. Because when a relaxing game starts to feel stingy and uncertain, it stops being an escape and starts feeling like an obligation.
