AFK Is No Longer Worth It in Fish It!


There was a time when Fish It! felt like the perfect comfort game. You could leave your character fishing while doing homework, watching a series, or even sleeping, and come back to a satisfying reward. It was simple, relaxing, and fair. Recently, however, that feeling has slowly faded.

After the latest updates, Fish It! no longer feels worth leaving AFK for hours. The rewards feel noticeably smaller, progression is slower, and the excitement of checking your inventory after a long AFK session has turned into disappointment. Instead of feeling rewarded for patience, players now often feel like their time has been wasted.

What makes this situation more concerning is that the game’s rating has also started to decline. Many players have begun leaving negative reviews, expressing frustration over reduced AFK rewards and overall balance changes. While the game is still playable and enjoyable for some, the growing dissatisfaction is becoming harder to ignore.

Adding to the tension, there has been circulating speculation within the community that Fish It! may be taking heavy inspiration from another fishing game, Fisch. Some players believe recent updates resemble mechanics and progression styles seen in Fisch, which has led to debates and comparisons across social media and Roblox communities. However, it is important to note that there has been no official clarification or confirmation from the developers regarding these claims.

Even so, the rumor alone has affected player perception. When a game is already facing criticism for being less rewarding, uncertainty about originality only deepens the disappointment. For some players, it feels like Fish It! is slowly losing its unique identity—the very thing that once made it stand out as a calm, AFK-friendly experience.

AFK gameplay was never about being lazy; it was about trust. Trust that the game respected players’ time. Now, even after hours of AFK fishing, the results rarely feel proportional. Rare fish feel even rarer, and the progress gained often does not match the time invested.

It is understandable that developers may want players to be more active. Games should encourage engagement. However, Fish It! built its reputation as a relaxed and forgiving game. Shifting too far away from that identity risks alienating the casual players who helped build its popularity.

Fish It! still has charm and potential. But unless AFK rewards are rebalanced and player concerns are addressed, the game risks continuing its downward trend—not only in ratings, but in player trust. Because when a relaxing game starts to feel stingy and uncertain, it stops being an escape and starts feeling like an obligation.
