Bojong Renged, July 19, 2025 - As part of their ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, students from the Community Service Program (KKN) of Muhammadiyah University organized a morning clean-up together with residents of Bojong Renged Village. The community clean-up began at 7:00 AM and aimed not only to improve the cleanliness of the area, but also to strengthen the bond between students and local residents.
Wearing their KKN jackets and equipped with brooms and large sacks, the students worked side by side with local women to sweep the streets and collect plastic waste. This activity is directly tied to the group’s main project: turning household plastic waste into eco-friendly paving blocks.
“Despite their household duties, the women participated with enthusiasm and energy,” one student noted.
The enthusiasm from the residents was evident. Many actively took part and expressed their gratitude for the students’ presence and initiatives.
The plastic waste collected during the activity will be further processed into paving block materials, which are planned to be used to repair damaged village roads.
By working directly with the local community, the KKN Bojong Renged team hopes to leave a lasting impact not only through visible improvements, but also by raising environmental awareness and a spirit of collaboration.
