Rhythmic Morning: KKN Students Support Physical Activity at SPS Brilliant Bojong Renged

Students' SPS Brilliant

Bojong Renged, 23 July 2025 — In collaboration with local educators, students from the Community Service Program (KKN) of Muhammadiyah University took part in a cheerful morning rhythm exercise at SPS Brilliant, a government-established early childhood education center under the Bojong Renged subdistrict.

SPS Brilliant, which serves children aged 3 to 5 years old, is a key early learning institution in the village. This morning’s session featured senam irama (rhythmic gymnastics), where the children followed simple movements to fun music, guided by their teachers with the support of KKN students.

Research from Healthdirect Australia  highlights that regular physical activity in young children improves coordination, strengthens muscles and bones, and supports emotional well-being. Engaging in rhythmic movement also enhances cognitive development and helps children build confidence in social settings.

This activity is part of the KKN students’ ongoing support for early childhood education in Bojong Renged, with their role focusing on assisting daily routines and enriching learning through creative participation.

Morning Clean-Up: KKN Students and Bojong Renged Residents

KKN Activity

Bojong Renged, July 19, 2025 - As part of their ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, students from the Community Service Program (KKN) of Muhammadiyah University organized a morning clean-up together with residents of Bojong Renged Village. The community clean-up began at 7:00 AM and aimed not only to improve the cleanliness of the area, but also to strengthen the bond between students and local residents.

Wearing their KKN jackets and equipped with brooms and large sacks, the students worked side by side with local women to sweep the streets and collect plastic waste. This activity is directly tied to the group’s main project: turning household plastic waste into eco-friendly paving blocks.

“Despite their household duties, the women participated with enthusiasm and energy,” one student noted.

The enthusiasm from the residents was evident. Many actively took part and expressed their gratitude for the students’ presence and initiatives.

The plastic waste collected during the activity will be further processed into paving block materials, which are planned to be used to repair damaged village roads.

By working directly with the local community, the KKN Bojong Renged team hopes to leave a lasting impact not only through visible improvements, but also by raising environmental awareness and a spirit of collaboration.

From Plastic Waste to Paving Blocks: Creative KKN Action in Bojong Renged

KKN Activity

Bojong Renged, July 18, 2025 — A group of students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) from Muhammadiyah University Tangerang, assigned to Bojong Renged Village, Teluknaga Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, have begun implementing an innovative and environmentally friendly program aimed at converting plastic waste into paving blocks.

Today, the students launched the first phase of the project by collecting and painting used water gallon containers. These containers will later be distributed to local residents as collection bins for household plastic waste.

“We noticed that the road leading into the Kampung Tematik area was damaged and full of potholes. That made us think about how to repair it in a more eco-friendly way. We want to educate the community that plastic waste can actually be valuable if managed properly. Today we are starting with a simple step: preparing and painting used gallons,” said the Vice Leader of the Bojong Renged KKN group.

The painted gallon containers will be placed in several strategic locations around residents’ homes, encouraging active community participation in waste separation and collection. The collected plastic waste will later be melted and processed into paving blocks, which are planned to be used for road improvement in the Kampung Tematik area.

This program is part of the Muhammadiyah University’s KKN initiative that began on July 16, 2025, and will run for approximately one month. Through this project, the students hope to make a meaningful contribution to sustainable village development and environmental awareness.
